Meet Me
Hi there! I'm Joey Rushfield, a 25-year-old award-winning photographer from Rockville, MD, working in the DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia area. I focus primarily on portraiture but also love capturing weddings, elopements, mitzvahs, and events, doing photojournalistic work, and photographing concerts. In all these genres, I have the same goal: tell a story while showing my style and flair.
I started my journey as a photographer when gifted a camera at age 10 and have grown a lot since then. Starting my formal education in photography in high school, I further pursued this interest with a B.A. in Digital Photography, graduating in December 2023. I started out photographing portraits as part of the Teenage Instagram Photographer (TIP) community in the mid-2010s, then pivoted to concert photography in the Baltimore area, photographing over 100 of the biggest bands in alternative and metal music. This diverse skillset has given me a helpful and unique perspective for event photography.

Outside of photography, I am a teacher, holding a degree in Elementary Education and over 7 years of experience in childcare in various roles. This passion comes in handy when working with families and children, where I bring my charm as an educator to ease the mood and create more authentic images. I also spent four summers as a summer camp photographer early on in my career, which proved to be invaluable experience across genres. My clients praise my nature as easygoing and flexible: my goal is for everyone to have a good time in our sessions. If I can add something memorable and positive to the day and enhance the great time you're already having, that's my goal.
Thank you for reading, and I hope to talk more with you soon! Let's work together to create amazing images.
